PARENTING RESOURCES
Hey guys,
The next few posts will be on parenting, a subject that of us that are parents want and need wisdom regarding. So, if you don’t have kids or if your kids are now adults, please feel free to pass this on to those you know that might be interested in these posts.
Parents, have you ever wondered if you are the only parents dealing with a certain issue with your kids or if you are the only parent who doesn’t know how to deal with a certain situation ?Well, I will guarantee that you are certainly not! We all have those feelings and many times we feel dumb asking some of those questions - if we can even figure out who to ask.
I want to encourage you that parenting is just plain hard for all of us. When you look at other families that seem to have it all together and think parenting is just natural for them, there are probably issues they are dealing with you just don’t know about. Sorry for that downer, but we all need to realize that everyone needs help with parenting, and that it’s okay to ask and seek help.
First, feel free to use Rebekah and I as resources. I can’t say we are the best parents ever, but I have been put in a unique situation to watch and observe many other parents. I have seen many wonderful ideas other people in our church have implemented and how these great Christian parents have dealt with difficult parenting situations. Many times I will at least be able to point you to others who have dealt with the same things you are going through now.
Second, I want to share with you an insightful and fun vlog that I came across a few months ago. It is called Dear Mattesons. It is a pastor and his wife that deal with real life questions, some general and some very specific. Topics range from potty training to talking to your kids about sex. Most of their vlogs are 3-10 minutes. Please take a few minutes to check them out.
I hope this is very helpful.
Blessings,
Pastor Chris
